About Us - Our Unique History

Preliminary Work and Training
After years of work in the OR/CS of a major trauma hospital in Portland, Oregon, I had an opportunity to try my hand at instrument repair.  I took a job with Mobile Instrument Service and Repair and there, slowly came to the realization that work in “the van” was simply “Mash” work…repair it any way you can.  Unsatisfied with the poor quality of such work, together with a friend selling surgical instruments, I started a fellowship with the idea that I would go to Germany for training.  I trained with Wolfgang Eisold of Eisold Instrument Repairs on how to properly repair surgical instrumentation in 1999.

Starting the Business
In 2006 my friend decided to leave the instrument business.  I was on my own and changed the name to WEST COAST SURGICAL REPAIRS. Through networking over the years I realized that I had gathered a collection of very talented technicians and succeeded in gathering them together, one for Rigid Scopes, one for Flexible Scopes, one for Power Equipment, one for specialty work and myself for basic surgical instrument repair.  We came together with the idea that we would provide the best repairs available…Successful Solutions, Keeping Your Best Interests At Heart.

How The Business Is Run
We abide by timetables although we know that some instruments, scopes, and specialties need additional time to complete.  We make sure that each repair is perfect before it leaves the site.  We will tell you if the repair is feasible, or if it is not cost effective.  We Provide Custom Repairs, In A Timely Manner, At A Reasonable Cost.
